Launched in the year 2021, the 50HK5600 is a 50" 4K TV from Hitachi. It features a 10-bit VA panel. The max. resolution it can achieve is 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz with a pixel density of 89 ppi.
Picture Quality
After screen size and resolution, the next most important spec of a display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy, which is defined by its color gamut specification.
This TV doesn't provide a color gamut specification, so we have to make an assumption based on its panel type.
As this TV features a big 50 inch screen, it won't come with a cheap panel, so here we can assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 90-100% or above. The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike! It is capable of producing color accurate images out of the box.
What Color Gamut means ?
Color gamut spec of a display is the measurement of the range of colors that the display can produce.
A panel with poor color accuracy will produce undersaturated/washed out colors that will not be pretty to look at.
Different manufacturers use different measurement standards to define color gamut. Viz — sRGB, NTSC, DCI P3 Adobe RGB and rec.2020.
But don't worry, below is a chart that you can use to choose a TV with good color accuracy.
Next in the list of important specifications is Static Contrast.
Understanding the static contrast ratio
Static contrast ratio of a TV corresponds to its Black levels. A Display with low static contrast ratio (less than 1000:1) will not produce deep blacks. Also, such displays often suffer from backlight bleeds such as this:

Needless to say, this will rob your viewing experience, especially in a dark room.
Other than black levels, a TV with high constrast ratio lets you to see more details. So, resolution and static contrast ratio go hand in hand in a sense.
This TV features a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., good enough to achieve deep blacks and eye-catching visuals. For the record, it also comes with local dimming which is a plus.
HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), HDR and HDR10 are also supported on this TV.
As for brightness, the peak brightness the Hitachi 50HK5600 can produce is 250 nits. The backlight used on the panel is Direct LED.
Gaming Performance
If you are planning to use your TV solely for content consumption, you can safely ignore these specs. But if you are also going to use the TV for playing games or use it as a PC monitor, you should get a TV with the lowest input lag and response time.
Sadly, Hitachi did not specify the input lag on this unit. But since this is not a cheap TV from Hitachi, input lag on this TV could be 20ms or below.
What is Input Lag and Why it matters ?
This lag is the amount of time at which your inputs changes the content of your display. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.
But ideally, look for a TV that has an input lag and response time of < 20ms.
Ergonomics and Dimensions
Now, coming to ergonomics — VESA mount is supported on this TV with an interface size of 200 x 200 mm. The unit doesn't come with either Swivel, Tilt or Pivot support.
Vertically, the TV measures 50 inches and horizontally 44.68 inches.
Overall it weighs around 9.53 KGs including stand. Without stand, it weighs 7.73 KGs.
Hardware and Audio
The core of Hitachi 50HK5600 is powered by 4-Core CPU. However, Hitachi didn't provide any info on the available RAM on the TV's official specsheet.
To power its UI, the TV runs Android 10 Operating System.
For display connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 (ARC; CEC) ports and one AV Composite In (Video + L/R) port on this TV.
