Picture Quality

After screen size and resolution, the next most important specification to look for in a Display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy, which is defined by its color gamut specification.

Speaking of which, this monitor is rated with a sRGB gamut coverage of 121%. The color quality on this monitor should be Lifelike! Thus, this display will also be useful for individuals who are into photo editing and color grading business.

What is Color gamut ?

Color gamut spec of a display is a measure of the range of colors that the display can display.

A display with poor color accuracy will produce undersaturated colors that will spoil your immersive experience.

It is specified in different units - sRGB,sRGB (standard RGB), NTSC 1953, DCI P3 to name a few.

For example, the color gamut of this Monitor is specified using sRGB.

But you don't need to worry about that, below is a chart that will help you choosing a Monitor with good color accuracy.

Color Gamut Chart

Now, after color gamut, the static contrast specification of a Display holds almost equal role in picture quality.

Why its important?

A display with high enough static contrast ratio will produce natural deep blacks while a display with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that look dusty as shown in the below image.

Example of a display with low contrast ratio

As you imagine, this will impact your experience considerably.

Note that, static contrast ratio and resolution go hand in hand when it comes to details. To put it into perspective, a Display with low contrast ratio will show both dark gray and black as black, so lesser detail overall.

This display features a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 — good enough for a display in this range.

Coming to brightness, the peak brightness it can achieve is 300 nits. The backlight used on the panel is W-LED.

Gaming Performance

If you are going to use this display primarily for gaming, make sure to get a Monitor with lowest input lag and response times.

Sadly, we cannot find the input lag specification for this unit. Now, IPS panels in general come with high input lags and response times. So, expect the input lag to be above 20ms. Though, Non-FPS and casual games should be playable.

Understanding Input lag and response time

This lag is the latency at which your key-presses or mouse movements changes the content of your Monitor. Though, this won't matter much if you aren't into competitive/FPS games like call of duty.

But ideally, get a Display that comes with an input lag and response time of < 20ms.

Ergonomics and Dimensions

Speaking of ergonomics — If you plan to wall mount the Monitor, you can make use of 100 x 100 mm VESA mount (to be purchased separately). It also supports Tilt and Pivot, except there is no support for Swivel on this Monitor.

The width of this Display is 21.26 inches while its height is 14.33 inches ( adjustable upto 5.12 in ). In terms of thickness, it is 1.69 inches thick. In total this monitor weighs 4.37 kilograms including its stand. Without stand, it weighs 2.71 Kilograms. So plan your desk space accordingly.
