The XR-65X90K NA is a 65 inch 4K TV from Sony. It was launched in 2022. It features a True 10-bit VA panel. It can achieve a max resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and pixel density of 68 ppi.
Picture Quality
After screen size and resolution, the next most important feature to look for in a display is its Color Reproduction (defined by its color gamut specification).
This TV doesn't come with a color gamut specification, so we have to make an assumption based on its panel type. Now, since the TV features amassive 65 inch screen, it won't come with a cheap panel, so here we can assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 90-100% or above. The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike! It is capable of producing color accurate images by default.
Understanding the Color Gamut Specification
Color gamut spec of a display is a measure of the range of colors that it can display.
A TV with poor color accuracy will produce undersaturated colors that will spoil the immersion.
It is specified in different units - sRGB(most popular), NTSC, DCI P3 Adobe RGB, rec.2020.
But you don't need to worry about that, here is a chart that will help you choosing a TV with good color accuracy.
Other than color accuracy, you should look at the static contrast specification as it influences the picture quality substantially.
The importance of static contrast ratio
A TV with high enough static contrast ratio will produce deep blacks while a TV with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that may look muddy as shown in the below image.

As you can see, this will affect your experience considerably.
Also note, static contrast ratio and resolution go hand in hand when it comes to details. To put it into perspective, a TV with low contrast ratio will produce less shades of colors, so lesser detail overall.
This TV comes with a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., well enough to display deep blacks and eye-catching visuals. For the record, it also comes with local dimming backlight technology which is a plus.
HDR is also supported on this TV in form of Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma).
As for brightness, it is can achieve a peak luminance of 250 nits, which is powered by Direct LED (Full-Array Local Dimming) backlight.
Gaming Performance
If you are planning to use your TV just for content consumption, you can safely ignore these specifications. But if you are also planning to use the TV for gaming or use it as a PC monitor, make sure to get a TV with the lowest input lag and response time.
Sadly, Sony did not specify the input lag on this unit. Now, as this is not a cheap TV, input lag on this TV could be 20ms or below.
Understanding Input lag and response time
This lag is the latency at which your key-presses or mouse movements changes the content of the TV. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.
Although for better experience, get a TV that comes with an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.
Dimensions and Ergonomics
The vertical and horizontal measurements of this TV are 57.17 inches and 33.98 inches ( adjustable upto 1.57 in ) respectively. Speaking of thickness, it is just 2.83 inches thick.
It weighs approximately 22.9 kilograms and 1.1 kgs extra including stand. So plan your space accordingly.
Coming to ergonomics — VESA mount is supported on this TV with an interface size of 300 x 300 mm. Swivel, Tilt or Pivot features are not supported on this unit.
