Picture Quality
Now, the next important specification of a display that will impact your viewing experience is its Color Gamut.
Sony has not provided a color gamut specification for this TV. But don't worry, we have other means to guess that. As this TV features a big 55 inch screen, it won't come with a cheap panel, so here we can assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 90-100% or above. Undoubtedly The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike! It will produce accurate colors out of the box.
What is Color gamut ?
Color gamut spec of a display is a measure of the range of colors that the TV can show.
In layman terms, it indicates the ability of a TV to produce accurate colors. A TV with low color gamut coverage will miss out on some colors (such as deep red), so the image produced will look "washed out" in colors.
Different manufacturers use different units to define color gamut. Such as — sRGB, NTSC, DCI P3 to name a few.
But don't worry, below is a chart that you can use to choose a TV with good color accuracy.
Next in the list of important specifications is Static Contrast.
Why its important?
Static contrast ratio of a TV corresponds to its Black levels. A TV with low static contrast ratio (less than 1000:1) will not produce deep blacks. Moreover, such TVs often suffer from backlight bleeds such as this:

Clearly this will impact your viewing experience considerably, especially in a dark room.
Like resolution, the static contrast ratio is also equally responsible for details. To put it into perspective, a TV with low contrast ratio will show both dark gray and black as black, thus lesser detail overall.
If given a choice, always prefer a FHD TV with high contrast ratio over a 4K TV with low contrast ratio.
This TV comes with a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., enough to display deep blacks. The panel comes with local dimming which is a plus.
Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) are also supported on this TV.
Coming to brightness, it can go as bright as 250 nits, which is powered by Direct LED backlight.
Gaming Performance
If you are planning to use your TV just for content consumption, you can ignore these specs. But if you are also going to use the TV for playing games or use it as a PC monitor, you should get a TV with the lowest input lag and response time.
Unfortunately, there is no specification for input lag on this TV. But as this is not a cheap TV from Sony, we can expect an input lag of less than 20ms.
What is Input lag ?
This lag is the amount of time at which your device inputs changes the content of your TV. Though, this won't matter much if you aren't into competitive/FPS games like call of duty.
For best of both worlds, get a TV that comes with an input lag and response time of < 20ms.
Dimensions and Ergonomics
Vertically, the TV measures 55 inches and horizontally 49 inches. In total, it weighs 17.5 KGs. So plan your space accordingly.
Speaking of ergonomics — VESA mount is supported on this TV with an interface size of 300 x 300 mm. The unit doesn't come with Swivel, Tilt or Pivot support.
