Launched in the year 2022, the 55QNED80UQA is a 55" 4K TV from LG. It comes with a True 10-bit IPS; VA panel. It can achieve a max resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and pixel density of 80 ppi.
Picture Quality
Now, the next important specification of a display that defines picture quality is its Color Gamut.
This TV doesn't provide a color gamut specification, but don't worry, we have other means to guess that.
Now, since the TV features amassive 55 inch screen, it won't come with a cheap panel, so here we can assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 90-100% or above. The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike! Meaning it is capable of producing color accurate images out of the box.
Understanding Color Gamut
Color gamut spec of a display indicates the range of colors that the display can show.
A display with poor color reproduction will produce undersaturated/washed out colors that will spoil your immersive experience.
Different manufacturers use different units to define color gamut. Such as — sRGB, NTSC 1953, DCI P3 Adobe RGB and rec.2020.
But you don't need to worry about that, here is a chart that you can use to choose a TV with good color accuracy.
Other than color accuracy, you should look at the static contrast specification as it influences the picture quality the same way.
What is Static Contrast ratio ?
There are 2 types of contrast specifications for a TV. Static and Dynamic. We are interested in static contrast ratio. Dynamic doesn't matter much.
This defines the intensity of black levels. That is, a TV with SC ratio less than 1000:1 may produce black images something like this:

Note that, such TVs are likely be prone to backlight bleeds that will rob your experience — as shown below.

Other than black levels, a TV with high constrast ratio enables you to see more details. So, resolution and static contrast ratio go hand in hand in a sense.
This TV comes with a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., enough to display deep blacks. For the record, it also comes with local dimming backlight technology which is a plus.
HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and HDR10 are also supported on this TV, so that's a plus.
Coming to brightness, the peak brightness the TV can achieve is 250 nits. The backlight used on the panel is Edge LED (Local Dimming).
Gaming Performance
If you are planning to use your TV solely for content consumption, you can safely ignore these specs. But if you are also going to use the TV for gaming or use it as a PC monitor, you should take a TV with the lowest input lag and response time.
Unfortunately, LG did not specify the input lag on this unit. Now, since this is not a cheap TV, input lag on this TV could be 20ms or below.
What is Input lag ?
This lag is the amount of time at which inputs changes the content of your TV. Though, this won't matter much if you aren't into competitive/FPS games like call of duty.
For best of both worlds, look for a TV that has an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.
Ergonomics and Dimensions
Now, coming to ergonomics — If you plan to wall mount the TV, you can make use of the VESA mount provided with this TV, which by the way has an interface size of 300 x 300 mm. The unit doesn't come with Swivel, Tilt or Pivot support.
The TV measures 55 inches vertically and 48.5 inches horizontally.
It is 1.7 inches thick. It weighs approximately 16.28 kgs and 0.41 kgs extra including stand. So plan your space accordingly.
Hardware and Audio
The chipset of LG 55QNED80UQA is powered by a 4-Core CPU. However, we could'nt find any specification on the total available RAM on the TV's official specsheet.
The Operating System on this TV is webOS 22.
For display connectivity, LG has provided two HDMI 2.0 ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports on this TV.
To connect USB devices, you will have two USB 2.0 ports. Other connectivity ports include — 1x RS232 (C — mini jack), 1x Cable/Antenna In (Main — F-type female) and 1x Ethernet RJ45.
For connecting to this TV wirelessly, the manufacturer has provided Wi-Fi (5Ghz + 2.5Ghz), Wifi-Direct, Bluetooth 5.0 and DLNA.

In terms of power usage, on average, this TV uses 113.28 watts and on standby, it uses 0.5 watts.
