The 55HAL7351 is a 55 inch 4K TV from Hitachi. It was launched in 2021. It comes with a 10-bit IPS panel.
It can achieve a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and pixel density of 80 ppi.
Picture Quality
After screen size and resolution, the next important specification to look for in a display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy, which is defined by its color gamut specification.
This TV doesn't provide a color gamut specification, so we have to take a guess.
As this TV features a big 55 inch screen, it won't come with a cheap panel, so here we can assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 90-100% or above. The color accuracy on this TV should be Lifelike! It will produce color accurate images.
What Color Gamut means ?
Color gamut specification of a TV indicates the range of colors that it can produce.
In layman terms, this specification determines the ability of a display to produce accurate colors. A display with low color gamut coverage will miss out on some colors (such as deep red), thus producing a "washed out" picture.
It is specified in different units - sRGB(most popular), NTSC 1953, DCI P3 to name a few.
But don't worry, below is a chart that will help you choosing a TV with good color accuracy.
Now, after color gamut, the static contrast of a TV similarly impacts its picture quality.
Why its important?
A TV with high enough static contrast ratio will produce deep blacks while a TV with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that look muddy as shown in the below image.

As you see, this will rob your experience considerably.
Other than black levels, a TV with high constrast ratio enables you to see more details. So, resolution and static contrast ratio go hand in hand in a sense.
This TV is rated with a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., good enough to achieve deep blacks. The panel comes with local dimming technology which is a plus.
HDR is also supported on this TV in form of HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), HDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
As for brightness, it is can produce a maximum luminance of 350 nits. The backlight of this TV is powered by Direct LED technology.
Gaming Performance
If you are planning to use your TV solely for content consumption, you can safely ignore these specifications. But if you are also going to use the TV for gaming or use it as a PC monitor, you should take a TV with the lowest input lag and response time.
Unfortunately, we cannot find the input lag specification for this unit. Now, since this is not a cheap TV, input lag on this TV could be 20ms or below.
What is Input Lag and Why it matters ?
This lag is the amount of time at which your device inputs changes the content of the screen. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.
But ideally, get a TV that has an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.
Ergonomics and Dimensions
Coming to ergonomics — VESA mount is supported on this TV with an interface size of 200 x 200 mm. Swivel, Tilt or Pivot features are not supported on this unit.
Vertically, the TV measures 55 inches and horizontally 48.58 inches. Speaking of thickness, it is just 2.68 inches thick. Overall, it weighs approximately 17.5 kgs.
