The 43HE4200 is a 43 inch Full HD TV from Hitachi, launched in the year 2021. It comes with a 10-bit IPS panel. The maximum resolution it can display is 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a pixel density of 51 ppi.
Picture Quality
After screen size and resolution, the next important specification to look for in a display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy, which is defined by its color gamut specification.
This TV doesn't provide a color gamut specification, so we have to make an assumption based on its panel type.
Now, since the TV comes with a 10bit IPS panel, we can safely assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 100% or above. The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike!
What is Color gamut ?
Color gamut spec of a TV is a measure of the range of colors that the TV can show.
In other words, this specification tells the ability of a display to produce accurate colors. A display with low gamut coverage will miss out on some colors (such as deep red), thus producing a "washed out" picture.
Different manufacturers use different measurement standards to specify color gamut. Viz — sRGB (most popular), NTSC 1953, DCI P3 etc.
But don't worry, below is a chart that you can use to choose a TV with good color accuracy.
Next in the list is Static Contrast.
What is Static Contrast ?
A TV with high enough static contrast ratio will produce deep blacks while a TV with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that will look dusty as shown in the below image.

As you can see, this will rob your experience considerably.
Static contrast ratio and resolution go hand in hand when it comes to details. To put it into perspective, a TV with low contrast ratio will produce less shades of colors, thus lesser detail overall.
If given a choice, always prefer a FHD TV with high contrast ratio over a 4K TV with low contrast ratio.
However, we couldn't find a static contrast ratio specification for this TV. So we have to make an assumption again based on the TV's other specifications. Most IPS panels come with a static contrast ratio between 700:1 - 1500:1. Considering its a mid-range Full HD TV, we can assume the ratio of Hitachi 43HE4200 to be on the upper side, that is atleast 1200:1.
HDR is also supported on this TV in form of HDR and HDR10.
Coming to brightness, the peak brightness the Hitachi 43HE4200 can achieve is 300 nits. The panel of this TV is powered by Direct LED backlight.
Gaming Performance
If you are going to use the TV other than watching videos — like as a PC monitor or for gaming purposes, you should take a TV with lowest input lag. For gaming, both the input lag and response time affects the performance.
Sadly, there is no specification for input lag on this TV. Now, IPS panels in general are infamous for high input lags and response times. So, the input lag on this TV could be above 20ms. Though, Non-FPS and casual games should be playable.
Understanding Input lag and response time
This lag is the latency at which inputs changes the content of the screen. Though, this won't matter much if you aren't into competitive/FPS games like call of duty.
Although for better experience, get a TV that comes with an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.
Ergonomics and Dimensions
Coming to ergonomics — a VESA mount with interface size of 100 x 100 mm is provided for wall-mounting. The unit doesn't come with Swivel, Tilt or Pivot support.
Vertically, the TV measures 43 inches and horizontally 38.58 inches. It weighs around 6.62 kilograms, another 1.8 kgs including stand.
Hardware and Audio
The Hitachi 43HE4200 comes with a 4-Core CPU. However, we could'nt find any specification on the RAM on this TV.
For display connectivity, there are three HDMI 1.4 (ARC; CEC) ports, one D-sub (15-pin) port, one AV Composite In (Video + L/R) port and one AV Component In (YPbPr + L/R) (via D-Sub) port on this TV.
To connect USB devices, you will have one USB 2.0 port. Other connectivity ports include — 1x CI+ 1.4, 1x Satellite In (Main — F-type female), 1x Antenna (RF) (female) and 1x Ethernet RJ45.
Wireless connectivity options on the Hitachi 43HE4200 include Wi-Fi (5Ghz + 2.5Ghz), Wifi-Direct, Bluetooth and DLNA.
Coming to audio, it is packaged with 2 x 8W speakers.
In terms of power consumption, on average, this TV consumes around 42 Watts and on standby, it uses 0.5 Watts.
For powering this unit, you'll require an 220 V - 240 V/50 Hz - 60 Hz outlet.
