Launched in the year 2021, the 43HAK5350 is a 43" 4K TV from Hitachi. It features a 10-bit IPS panel. It can display a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz with a pixel density of 103 ppi.
Picture Quality
After screen size and resolution, the next most important feature of a display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy (defined by its color gamut specification).
Hitachi did not provide a color gamut rating for this TV. But don't worry, we have other means to guess that.
Now, since the TV comes with a 10bit IPS panel, we can safely assume its equivalent sRGB coverage to be 100% or above. Undoubtedly The color quality on this TV will be Lifelike!
Understanding Color Gamut
Color gamut specification of a TV is the measurement of the range of colors that it can produce.
A TV with poor color accuracy will produce washed out colors that will spoil the immersion.
Different manufacturers use different measurement standards to specify color gamut. Viz — sRGB, NTSC, DCI P3 Adobe RGB and rec.2020.
But you don't need to worry about that, below is a chart that you can use to choose a TV with good color accuracy.
Other than color accuracy, you should look at the static contrast specification as it influences the picture quality substantially.
Understanding the static contrast specification
A TV with high enough static contrast ratio will produce deep blacks while a TV with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that will look muddy as shown in the below image.

As you imagine, this will affect your experience considerably.
Like resolution, the static contrast ratio is also equally responsible for details. To put it into perspective, a TV with low contrast ratio will show both dark gray and black as black, thus lesser detail overall.
This TV is rated with a static contrast ratio of 8000:1., good enough to achieve deep blacks. The panel comes with local dimming which is a plus.
HDR is also supported on this TV in form of HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), HDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
Coming to brightness, it can go as bright as 350 nits, which is powered by Direct LED backlight.
Gaming Performance
If you are not interested in gaming, you can ignore these specifications. But if you are also going to use the TV for gaming or use it as a PC monitor, you should take a TV that features the lowest input lag and response time.
Sadly, Hitachi did not specify the input lag on this unit. But as this is not a cheap TV from Hitachi, input lag on this TV could be 20ms or below.
What is Input lag ?
This lag is the amount of time at which your key-presses/mouse movements changes the content of the screen. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.
But ideally, look for a TV that features an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.
Dimensions and Ergonomics
Vertically, the TV measures 43 inches and horizontally 38.31 inches. It is just 3.23 inches thick.
It weighs 5.44 Kgs, another 1.8 kgs if you include stand. So plan your space accordingly.
Coming to ergonomics — VESA mount is supported on this TV with an interface size of 100 x 100 mm. Swivel, Tilt or Pivot features are not supported on this unit.
Hardware and Audio
The core of this TV is powered by a Quad Core CPU. However, Hitachi didn't provide any info about the RAM on the TV's official specsheet.
Speaking of OS, the Hitachi 43HAK5350 runs Android TV Operating System.
For display connectivity, Hitachi has provided three HDMI 2.0 (ARC; CEC) ports on this TV.
For connecting USB devices, you will have two USB 2.0 ports. Other connectivity ports include — 1x Satellite In (Main — F-type female), 1x CI+ 1.4, 1x Antenna (RF) (female) and 1x Ethernet RJ45.
For connecting to this TV wirelessly, the manufacturer has provided a 5Ghz Wi-Fi, 2.5 Ghz Wi-Fi, Wifi-Direct, Bluetooth and DLNA.
Coming to audio, Hitachi has provided 2 x 12W built-in speakers on the TV.
Now, coming to power consumption, on average, it uses 86.4W and on standby, it uses 0.5 W.
For powering this unit, you will require an 220 V - 240 V/50 Hz - 60 Hz outlet.
