Picture Quality

Now, the very next feature of a Display that defines picture quality is Color Gamut.

This Monitor comes with 121% sRGB color gamut coverage. The color quality on this monitor will be Lifelike! Apart from giving you a truly world-class experience, this display will also be useful for professionals who are into photo editing and color grading business.

Understanding Color Gamut

Color gamut spec of a Monitor is a measure of the range of colors that the monitor can show.

In other words, it tells the ability of a monitor to produce accurate colors. A monitor with low gamut coverage will miss out on some colors (such as deep red), the result would be a "washed out" picture quality.

Different manufacturers use different measurement standards to specify color gamut. Viz — sRGB (most popular), NTSC 1953, DCI P3 Adobe RGB and rec.2020.

For example, the color gamut of this Monitor is specified using sRGB.

But don't worry, below is a chart that you can use to choose a Monitor with good color accuracy.

Color Gamut Chart

After color gamut, you should look at the static contrast specification as it impacts the picture quality substantially.

The importance of static contrast ratio

A display with high enough static contrast ratio will produce deep blacks while a display with low contrast ratio (<1000:1) will produce images that will look dusty as shown in the below image.

Example of a display with low contrast ratio

As you see, this will rob your experience considerably.

Also note, static contrast ratio and resolution go hand in hand when it comes to details. To put it into perspective, a Display with low contrast ratio will show both dark gray and black as black, thus lesser detail overall.

If given a choice, always prefer a FHD Display with high contrast ratio over a 4K Display with low contrast ratio.

This monitor features a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 — good enough for a display in this range.

Coming to brightness, it is capable of producing a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The panel of this Monitor is powered by W-LED backlight technology.

Gaming Performance

Now if you need a display primarily for gaming, you would want to take a Monitor with lowest input lag and response times.

Sadly, we cannot find the input lag specification for this unit. Now, IPS panels in general come with high input lags and response times. So, expect the input lag to be 20ms or above. Though, Non-FPS and casual games should be playable.

What is Input lag ?

This lag is the amount of time at which your inputs changes the content of your Monitor. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.

But ideally, look for a Display that features an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.

Ergonomics and Dimensions

Now, speaking of ergonomics — a VESA mount with interface size of 100 x 100 mm is provided for wall-mounting. It also supports Tilt and Pivot, except there is no support for Swivel.

Vertically, the Monitor extends upto 13.74 inches (adjustable +5.12") and horizontally 21.26 inches. It is just 1.69 inches thick. It weighs 2.7 Kgs and an additional 1.66 kgs if you include its stand. So plan your desk space accordingly.
