The Philips 24E1N3300A is a 24 inch Full HD Monitor from Philips, launched in the year 2022. It comes with a True 8-bit IPS panel with Anti-glare/Matte (3H) finish. The max. resolution it can achieve is 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 75 Hz and a pixel density of 92 ppi.

Picture Quality

After screen size and resolution, the next important specification of a Display that impacts picture quality is Color Gamut.

This Monitor is rated with a sRGB coverage of 121%. The color accuracy on this monitor should be Lifelike! Apart from giving you a truly world-class experience, this display will also be useful for professional photographers who are into photo editing and color grading business.

Understanding the Color Gamut Specification

Color gamut spec of a Monitor is the measurement of the range of colors that it can produce.

A panel with poor color reproduction will produce washed out colors that will spoil the immersion.

Different manufacturers use different units to define color gamut. Viz — sRGB, NTSC, DCI P3 Adobe RGB and rec.2020.

For example, the color gamut of this Monitor is specified using sRGB.

But you don't need to worry about that, here is a chart that you can use to choose a Monitor with good color accuracy.

Color Gamut Chart

After color gamut, the static contrast of a display similarly impacts its picture quality.

What is Static Contrast ratio ?

There are 2 types of contrast specifications for a Display. Static and Dynamic. We are interested in static contrast ratio as dynamic doesn't matter much.

This specification defines the intensity of black levels. That is, a Display with SC ratio less than 1000:1 may produce black images something like this:

Example of a disply with low contrast ratio

Apart from that, such Displays are likely to suffer from backlight bleeds that will rob your experience — as shown below.

Also, a Display with high constrast ratio allows you to see more details. So, resolution and static contrast ratio go hand in hand.

This Monitor features a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 — good enough for a display in this range.

Coming to brightness, the peak luminance it can produce is 300 nits. The backlight of this Monitor is powered by W-LED technology.

Gaming Performance

Now if you want a display primarily for gaming, you should get a Monitor with lowest input lag and response times.

Sadly, there is no specification for input lag on this Monitor. Now, IPS panels in general are infamous for high input lags and response times. So, expect the input lag to be above 20ms. Though, there's no concern for playability of casual or Non-FPS games on it.

Understanding Input lag and response time

This lag is the latency at which device inputs changes the content of your display. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.

For best of both worlds, get a Monitor that features an input lag and response time of < 20ms.

Ergonomics and Dimensions

Coming to ergonomics — If you plan to wall mount the Monitor, you can make use of 100 x 100 mm VESA mount (to be purchased separately). However, there is no Swivel or Pivot support on this monitor except Tilt support.

Vertically, the Monitor measures 24 inches and horizontally 21.26 inches.

It is 1.69 inches thick. Overall the monitor weighs approximately 4.12 KGs including stand. Without stand, it weighs 2.7 kgs. So plan your desk space accordingly.

For display connectivity, there is one HDMI 1.4 port on this Monitor.

USB ports include 1x USB 3.2 (Type-C; upstream; 65W) and 4x USB 3.2 (Type-A; downstream).

The monitor also comes with 2 x 3W built-in speakers.

Now, coming to power usage, on average, this monitor consumes about 34.56 Watts and on standby, it takes 0.5 Watts.

For powering this unit, you'll need either a 110V or 220V outlet @ 50Hz-60Hz.
