The Ozone DSP25 Pro is a 25 inch Full HD Monitor from Ozone, launched in the year 2019. It features a 8-bit TN panel with Anti-glare/Matte finish. The maximum resolution it can display is 1920 x 1080 @ 144 Hz with a pixel density of 89 ppi.

Picture Quality

After screen size and resolution, the next most important spec to look for in a Display is its Color Reproduction Accuracy, which is defined by its color gamut specification.

This Monitor doesn't come with a color gamut specification, so we have to make an assumption based on its panel type.

As this Monitor comes with TN panel and it is not a cheap Display, we can assume that its equivalent sRGB color gamut coverage would be between 60-80%. For productivity, content viewing and gaming purposes, you will not need any better than this anyway. So its good enough.

Understanding the Color Gamut Specification

Color gamut spec of a display indicates the range of colors that the monitor can display.

A display with poor color reproduction will produce washed out colors that will spoil your immersive experience.

Different manufacturers use different measurement standards to define color gamut. Such as — sRGB (most popular), NTSC, DCI P3 to name a few.

But you don't need to worry about that, here is a chart that you can use to choose a Monitor with good color accuracy.

Color Gamut Chart

Other than color accuracy, you should look at the static contrast specification as it impacts the picture quality substantially.

Understanding the static contrast ratio

A Display with low static contrast ratio will not produce deep blacks and possibly bleed backlight as shown below:

Backlight bleed exampleThe image is an example of another display, it is not this one

The static contrast ratio of above Display is 800:1. So make sure you get a Display with a static contrast of >= 1000:1. Ofcourse, More the better.

Think of static contrast as another dimension to details — just like resolution. To put it into perspective, a Display with low contrast ratio will show both dark gray and black as black, so lesser detail overall.

If given a choice, I will prefer a FHD Display with high contrast ratio over a 4K Display with low contrast ratio.

This Display features a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 — good enough for a display with TN panel.

As for brightness, it is capable of producing a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The backlight used on its panel is W-LED.

Gaming Performance

If you need a display primarily for gaming, make sure to take a Monitor that features the lowest input lag and response times.

The input lag on this Monitor is 5 ms and its minimum response time is 1 ms. Its the best you can get for gaming.

Understanding Input lag and response time

This lag is the latency at which device inputs changes the content of the screen. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.

But ideally, look for a Monitor that has an input lag and response time of less than 20ms.

Ergonomics and Dimensions

Coming to ergonomics — If you plan to wall mount the Monitor, you can make use of 100 x 100 mm VESA mount (to be purchased separately). The display supports Swivel and Tilt, however there is no support for Pivot.

The horizontal and vertical measurements of the this Display are 22.24 inches and 15.55 inches ( adjustable upto 5.32" ) respectively. Speaking of thickness, it is 1.68 inches thick. It weighs approximately 3.55 kgs, another 0.7 kgs if you include its stand. So plan your desk space accordingly.

For display connectivity, there are one HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort 1.2 port and one HDMI 1.4 port on this Monitor.

To connect USB devices, it includes one USB 2.0 port.

In terms of power consumption, on average, the Ozone DSP25 Pro uses around 48 watts and on standby, it uses 0.29 watts.

For powering this unit, you'll require either a 110V or 220V outlet @ 50Hz-60Hz.
