Picture Quality

After screen size and resolution, the next most important specification of a Display is its Color Reproduction, which is defined by its color gamut specification.

Speaking of which, this monitor comes with 95% DCI P3 color gamut coverage. Incase you're wondering, this is equivalent to 129.55% sRGB coverage. The color quality on this monitor will be Lifelike! Thus, it will also be useful for professionals who are interested in photo editing and color grading business.

What Color Gamut means ?

Color gamut specification of a Monitor is a measure of the range of colors that the display can display.

A display with poor color reproduction will produce washed out colors that will not be pretty to look at.

Different manufacturers use different units to define color gamut. Such as — sRGB, NTSC 1953, DCI P3 etc.

For example, the color gamut of this Monitor is specified in DCI P3.

But you don't need to worry about that, below is a chart that you can use to choose a Monitor with good color accuracy.

Color Gamut Chart

Now, after color gamut, the static contrast of a monitor similarly impacts its picture quality.

Understanding the static contrast ratio of a Display

The static contrast ratio of a Display corresponds to its Black levels. A Display with low static contrast ratio (less than 1000:1) will not produce deep blacks. Apart from this, such monitors are likely to suffer from backlight bleeds such as below:

Clearly this will impact your experience considerably, especially in a dark room.

Also note, static contrast ratio and resolution go hand in hand when it comes to details. To put it into perspective, a Display with low contrast ratio will produce less shades of colors, thus lesser detail overall.

If given a choice, I will prefer a FHD Display with high contrast ratio over a 4K Display with low contrast ratio.

This Display features a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 — good enough for a display in this range.

Coming to brightness of this Display, it can go as bright as 400 nits. The panel of this Monitor is powered by W-LED backlight technology.

Gaming Performance

If you are going to use this display primarily for gaming, make sure to take a Monitor with lowest input lag and response times.

The input lag on this Monitor is 5 ms and its minimum response time is 1 ms. So its a go-to Display if you are interested in gaming.

Understanding Input lag and response time

This lag is the latency at which inputs changes the content of your display. For casual Non-FPS games, input lag doesn't matter much.

For best of both worlds, look for a Monitor that comes with an input lag and response time of < 20ms.

Dimensions and Ergonomics

Vertically, the Monitor measures 27 inches and horizontally 24.5 inches. It weighs 10.5 KGs. So plan your desk space accordingly.

Now, speaking of ergonomics — If you plan to wall mount the Monitor, you can make use of 100 x 100 mm VESA mount (to be purchased separately). It also features tilt, swivel and pivot support.

For display connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC) ports on this Monitor.

However, there are no USB ports are included on this unit.

The monitor also comes with 2 x 2W built-in speakers.

As for power consumption, this monitor uses 29.2W on average and 0.37W on standby.

Both 110V and 220V lines are supported on this unit.
